Tom Payne

Tom Payne's original 1964 AC Cobra 289 Competition. As it looked when he raced the car and how it looks today at the Newport Car Museum, Portsmouth RI.

Tom Payne was called "The Gentleman Racer" because on one occasion he was delayed in arriving at Mosport raceway and had to drive in his business suit. You can see that in this painting.

Original painting transparent watercolor on paper by David Lloyd Glover

The painting will be reproduced to a full size wall mural and installed with the Cobra in the museum.
