Description
Acrylic plein air painting. 20 x 16" on stretched canvas.
Sometimes I use a technique for painting plen air. I paint over the gessoed canvas with a light coating of acrylic medium and varnish. This gives the surface a slick and almost slippery quality. Then with a surface that has more slide to it, I can work up a painting very quickly and even give the illusion of a more polished piece because my brush work is very fluid. Give it a try.
