"Well,,,howya doin', pilgrim?" As I write this, the Duke's dark green 1948 Lincoln Continental convertible is sitting in my friend's garage in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, waiting to be sold. I know there's another one at John Wayne Airport. Not sure if he had two, but I've sat in and photographed at least one. Your art is spectacularly executed.

Hi David, What a good likeness you got of John Wayne. Ruth

Wasn't his last movie, "The Shootist"? I have watched it many times, but not real sure if it was his last, but thought so. What part did your friend play, so if he is in this movie, I can watch for it? Thanks for the history behind this! Very interesting! It is all a special part of the "art" world!
David Lloyd Glover replied:
Yes, The Shootist was his final movie. My buddy played the ferro card dealer who gets shot between the eyes. Duke was a dead eye shot!

I had the pleasure of having lunch at the Duke's home in Newport Beach. He had already passed away but got to sit out on his deck and enjoy his personal view. One of my best friends was the last character to be shot dead by John Wayne in his final movie "The Shootist" . He told me what it was like to work with an actor of John Wayne's stature.

This is a grand monument to a great actor and person! Just love it David!
