Fine artist, David Lloyd Glover has just completed a full restoration of the painting by Belgian artist Charles Ferdinand Ceramano circa 1890. The painting, oil on canvas 29 x 40” was in deteriorated condition with a severe pattern of tears in the upper left sky. The canvas was extremely dry with the proteins eaten by time and mites. Several holes were scattered throughout the surface. The canvas was reconditioned and left untouched until supple enough to thoroughly clean. The six jagged tears in the sky region were repaired and the loss areas were filled. Glover took care not only replace paint loss areas and not to repaint large sections. The surface was totally recoated with a removable varnish to match the original gloss.
