I think I was being overcome with the beauty of these massive rhododendrons on my property. Spring comes fast in Vancouver and amongst the tulips and daffodils. the rhodos are the harbinger of warmer weather. This is a transparent watercolor painting.

This watercolor was done in April as the first blooms happen in the city of Vancouver where I used to live. They don't grow in Los Angeles as we don't have the soil or rain for it.
